What a terrific shoot with a wonderful woman. The one thing that I enjoy the most with this line of work is meeting new and interesting folks, and this shoot is why I do what I do! She was looking for a few shots that showed off the “true her”, and I think this one was the best of the bunch, and certainly my favorite!

I’ve had the pleasure of working with the same families over the years, and they call me for some fun sessions. This is one of them! Earlier this year, they celebrated a birthday party (I won’t say what number) and asked if I could come take some family pictures for them. We had to get creative as the only space available was a side room at The Federal restaurant in Agawam, MA. Thankfully the walls were WHITE 🙂 – that helped bounce some nice light onto my subjects. The last picture is the custom matted and frame piece I did for their family!

What a fun shoot, and what makes it really special is that it was for my niece Danielle (she’s the one on the right). Â Her sister got in on the act and mom too, and I think the series came out really great! There were a few challenges with this session, the biggest being that we were shooting at the beach. Â Timing is everything when it comes to the beach. Â We had to get down there with just enough light left in the day, but not too much, but also, not too little! Â I supplement with flash, BUT (and you knew there’d be a BUT) the biggest challenge of all was that it was a stiff...
